As of September 16, 2008 on Channel 7 news they want to elect a new mayor besides Cockerel which I think is sad to waste the taxpayers’ money, 3 million dollars. They should just have Mr. Cockerel by the new mayor of Detroit. Then it’s sad that they have to spend more taxpayers’ money to find another mayor May in May 2009. In the long run the city of Detroit is being punished all the way around, money wise. Also emotional-wise the people of Detroit are scared on the inside and it’s going to take some time for the people of Detroit to trust another one to take the mayor of Detroit spot. Also, when the people do elect a Mayor of Detroit-there’s a lot of work to catch up with in the city of Detroit-then, will the people of Detroit be happy that they elected a new mayor?

CAMP CAVELL CONT.

Camp Cavell is a YMCA camp that has a very nice & large eating area. We were served breakfast, lunch & dinner buffet style. We went swimming in Lake Huron, while some of us stayed on a deck overlooking the lake.

Also available were canoes & kayaks. Some members dared to kayak. Some of us did some nice woodworking at the wood shop. They also have farm animals & a day care center for children.

It rained Saturday night so we had family night inside our cabin. Also included was a nice hayride early Saturday night. We had a great time . Thank you, host

THE DICKIE WICUM COUNTRY-WESTERN SHOW-August 21

Enjoyable night it was, listening to some very way back country music, and some more recent country tunes.

There was a pre-show band that had a very nice vocalist. Dickie Wicum san some sad country songs & then jazzed it up with jamming’ tunes. He kept joking about his age & his lost clothes while traveling here. The night was good, thanks to our activity host, Mary. We went for dinner at McDonald’s & a beach visit prior to the show. A great night!

DETROIT SHOCK-September 11th

What a night! Those Detroiters know how to party! My first visit to the Palace of Auburn Hills was exciting. We were a little high up in the stands. It took me some getting used to the height. Not only was there a good game against the Washington Mystics, but they also had their mascot & dancers & singers. Detroit Shock won 78 to 66. Thank you, host, Manuella

How can the former mayor of Detroit afford to get a house in Grosse Pointe for 1.5
Million?

I think former mayor of Detroit’s name should be taken from every building not just the Detroit Zoo. Also from every book. That is real sad that the mayor couldn’t step down as mayor, instead of wasting millions of dollars in Detroit taxpayers’ money. It seems to me the mayor had this scandal since he first started office, like he had a plan from the get to, and it took years to catch up to the mayor of Detroit. See the regular criminal it wouldn’t take this long; they’d be in prison a long time, that’s the way I feel about the mayor he should have got the same punishment. That’s why he should not buy the Grosse Pointe house for 1.5 million.

I am starting college in 2 weeks. I think it is a good, it will also better me at the end. I had a lot of setbacks where I didn’t know where to start now that I’m back on track. I am putting myself through on college. I never thought that I will go to college after high school. I didn’t know where I would be. A lot of people have setbacks but don’t let it stop you from what you want to do in life. It’s never too late; it’s only too late when you don’t try.
It took me a long time to realize that I didn’t it now I am happy that I am going. I think it would be along time to realize that but I didn’t it now I am happy that I am going. I think it would be a good experience for me. `
GHOSTS
Practically every culture on Earth since the dawn of time have had ghosts as part of their legends. Although not every culture has the same beliefs as to exactly what a ghost is, most of them agree that ghosts have something to do with the spirit or energy
Of the dead. Some claim that ghosts are the spirits that have not been able to find their
Way to the afterlife for one reason or another, that has either been left behind on Earth, or is making a visit to Earth from the afterlife.
Most legends agree that ghosts are either completely invisible or very hard to see resembling mist or shadow. Considering that ghost have no physical body, you wouldn’t expect to see much. Visible or not, ghosts are said to have some control over the physical world, whether it be from merely allowing people to feel their presence or by causing chaos by breaking things and making noises.
Most religions claim that a soul (if they believe in one) passes on either to an afterlife or into another body. Some cultures believe that ghosts are capable of possessing a living person and forcing them to say and do things against their will. There are several

Ghosts have become a large part of pop culture as well. The ghost story is a very common genre of campfire tales, and [these] are usually made to scare or entertain children. Hollywood has, of course, gotten a hold of the ghost idea and made plenty of movies regarding ghosts.

Most skeptics claim that ghosts do not exist, and attribute the phenomena with wind, optical illusions, gullibility, and good old fashioned lying. Still, most people believe in ghosts in one form or another, and many people claim to have witnessed a ghost first hand. Because Halloween is based on the spirits of the dead, ghost are fully integrated into the holiday. Most cultures (Latin American, Japan, etc.) show deep respect for the spirits of the dead, but in the United States ghosts are usually viewed as playful white bed sheets that are cute and silly.

Eight of us, Blue Water Clubhouse members, had an enjoyable vacation at Camp Cavell in Lexington, August 23rd & 24th.

We gals had a very large and spacious cabin with a kitchen, family room, and bed space
And two baths. The men in their cabin next to us, had a bit smaller cabin but very nice.
We gals also had a fireplace with wood provided.

And in the end, after all that’s happened these past 19 months, the Barack Obama I know today is the same man I fell in love with 19 years ago. He’s the same man who drove me and our new baby daughter home from the hospital ten years ago this summer, inching along at a snail’s pace, peering anxiously at us in the rearview mirror, feeling the whole weight of her future in his hands, determined to give her everything he’d struggled so hard for himself, determined to give her what he never had: the affirming embrace of a father’s love.

And as I tuck that little girl and her little sister into bed at night, I think about how one day, they’ll have families of their own. And one day, they—and your sons and daughters—will tell their own children about what we did together in this election. They’ll tell them how this time, we listened to our hopes, instead of our fears. How this time, we decided to stop doubting and to start dreaming. How this time, in this great country—where a girl from the South Side of Chicago can go to college and law school, and the son of a single mother from Hawaii can go all the way to the White House—we committed ourselves to building the world as it should be.

So tonight, in honor of my father’s memory and my daughters’ future—out of gratitude to those who triumphs we mark this week, and those whose everyday sacrifices have brought to this moment—let us devote ourselves to finishing their work; let us work together to fulfill their hopes; and let us stand together to elect Barach Obama President of the United States of America.

KANSAS CITY, MO (2007-10-01)

Kelley Weiss reports on how a broken system is making law enforcement take care of an increasing number of severely mentally ill on the streets, like Troost Avenue, and in the city jail.

In 1963 President Kennedy signed into law the Community Health Centers Act that
Deinstitutionalized the mentally ill, moving out of large state asylums and into the community. The problem is that not enough federal dollars followed to support those community programs. Some of them found places to live like with their families or in private groups homes. Others were left in the street.

Sgt. John Bryant, of the Kanses City Police Department, teaches officers Crisis Intervention Training so they can give better emergency response to people with mental illness. He slows down when a men wearing a three-piece suit, frantically waving his arms and yelling jumps in front of the police car.

One third of all homeless people are schizophrenic, and he says the homeless are more likely to break the law by trespassing, urinating in public or petty theft.

“We know that today in each facility there are far more people with mental illness locked away than there are here at Western Missouri Mental Health Center.”

MENTAL HEALTH, STORY FOUR: FROM THE STREETS TO JAIL AND BACK AGAIN KELLEY WEISS

On their side again.

All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won’t do—that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be.

That is the thread that connect our hearts. That is the thread that runs through my journey and Barach’s journey and so many other improbable journeys that have brought us here tonight, where the current of history meets this new tide of hope.

That is why I love this country.

And in my own life, in my own small way, I’ve tried to give back to this country that has given me so much. That’s why I left a job at a law firm for a career in public service, working to empower young people to volunteer in their communities. Because I believe that each one of us—no matter what our age or background or walk of life—each of us has something to contribute to the life of this nation.

It’s a belief Barack shares—a belief at the heart of his life’s work.

It’s what he did all those years ago, on the streets of Chicago, setting up job training to get people back to work and afterschool programs to keep kids safe—working block by block to help people life up their families.

It’s what he did in the Illinois Senate, moving people from welfare to jobs, passing tax
Cuts for hard working families, and making sure women get equal pay for equal work.

It’s what he’s done in the United States, fighting to ensure the men and women who servc this country are welcomed home just not with metals and parades, but with good jobs and benefits and health care—including mental health care.

That’s why he’s running—to end the war in Iraq responsibly, to build an economy that lifts every family, to make health care available for every American, and to make sure every child in this nation gets a world class education all the way from preschool to college. That’s what Barack Obama will do as President of the United States of America.

He’ll achieve these goals the same way he always has—by bringing us together and reminding us how much we share and how alike we really are. You see, Barack doesn’t care where you’re from, or what your background is, or what party—if any—you belong to. That’s not how he sees the world. He knows that thread that connect us—our belief in America’s promise, our commitment to our children’s future—is strong enough to hold us together as one nation even when we disagree.

It was strong enough to bring hope to those neighborhoods in Chicago.

It was strong enough to bring hope to people who came out on a cold Iowa night and became the first voices in this chorus for change that’s been echoed by millions of Americans from every corner of this nation.

Millions of Americans who know that Barack understands their dreams; that Barack will fight for people like them; and that Barack will finally bring the change we need.

And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation. Becaause we want our children—and all children in this nation—to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.

And as our friendship grew, and I learned more about Barack, he introduced me to the work he’d down when he first moved to Chicago after college. Insteading of heading to Wall Street, Barack had gone to work in neighborhoods devastated when steel plants shut down, and jobs dried up. And he’d been invited back to speak to people from those neighborhoods about how to rebuild their community.

The people gathered together that day were ordinary folks doing the best they could to build a good life. They were parents living paycheck to paycheck; grandparents trying to get by on a fixed income; men frustrated that they couldn’t support their families after their jobs disappeared. Those folks weren’t asking for a handout or a shortcut. They were ready to work—they wanted to contribute. They believed—like you and I believe—that American should be a place where you can make it if you try.

Barack stood up that day, and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about “The world as it is” and “The world as it should be”. And he said that all to often, we accept the distance between the two, and settle for the world as it is—even when it doesn’t reflect our values and aspirations. But he reminded us that we know what our world should look like. We know what fairness and justice and opportunity look like. And he urged us to believe in ourselves—to find the strength within ourselves to strive for the world as it should be. And isn’t that the great American story?

It’s the story of men and women gathered in churches and union halls, in town squares and high school gyms—people who stood up and marched and risked everything they had—refusing to settle, determined to mold our future into the shape of our ideals.

It is because of their will and determination that this week, we celebrate two anniversaries: the 88th anniversary of women winning the right to vote, and the 45th anniversary of that hot summer day when Dr. King lifted our sights and our hearts with his dream for our nation.

I stand here today at the crosscurrents of that history—knowing that my piece of the American dream is a blessing hard won by those who came before me. All of the driven by the same conviction that drove my dad to get up an hour early each day to painstakingly dress himself for work. The same conviction that drives the men and women I’ve met all across this country:

People who work the day shift, kiss their kids goodnight, and head out for the night shift—without disappointment, without regret—that goodnight kiss is a reminder of everything they’re working for.

The military families who say grace each night with an empty seat at the table. The servicemen and women who love this country so much, they leave those they love most to defend it.

The young people across America serving our communities—-teaching children, cleaning up neighborhoods, caring for the least among us each and every day.

People like Hilary Clinton, who put those 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling, so that our daughters—and sons—can dream a little bigger and aim a little higher.

People like Joe Biden, who’s never forgotten where he came from, and never stopped fighting for folks who work long hours and face long odds and need someone on their

Moment of my life.

At six-foot-six, I’ve often felt like Craig and my mom here tonight. Like Craig was looking down on me too—-literally. But the truth is, both when we were kids and today, he wasn’t looking down on me—-he was watching over me.

And he’s been there for me every step of the since that dear February day 19 months ago, when—-with little more than our faith in each other and a hunger for change—-we joined my husband, Barack Obama, on the improbable journey that’s brought us to this moment.

But each of us also comes here tonight by way of our own improbably journey.

I come here tonight as a sister, blessed with a brother who is my mentor, my protector and my lifelong friend.

I come here as a wife who loves my husband and believes he will be an extraordinary
President.

I come here as Mom whose girls are the heart of my heart and the center of my world—they’re the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing I think about when I go to bed at night. Their future—-and all our children’s future—-is my stake in this election.

And I come here as a daughter—-raised on the South Side of Chicago by a father

Who was a blue collar city worker, and a mother who stayed at home with my brother and me. My mother’s love has always been a sustaining force for our family, and one of my greatest joys is seeing her integrity, her compassion, and her intelligence reflected in my own daughters.

My dad was our rock. Although he was diagnosed with multiple scelerosis in his early thirties, he was our provider, our champion, our hero. As he got sicker, it got harder for him to walk, it took him longer to get dressed in the morning. But if was in pain, he never let on. He never stopped smiling and laughing—even while struggling to button his shirt, even while using two canes to get himself across the room to give my Mom a kiss. He just woke up a little earlier, and worked a little harder.

He and my mom poured everything they had into me and Craig. It was the greatest gift a child can receive: never doubting for a single minute that you’re loved, and cherished, and have a place in this world. And thanks to their faith and hard work, we both were able to go to college. So I know firsthand from their lives—that the American dream endures.

And you know, what struck me when I first met Barack was that even though he had this funny name, even though he’d grown up all the way across the continent in Hawaii, his family was so much like mine. He was raised by grandparents who were working class folks just like my parents, and by a single mother who struggled to pay the bills just like we did. Like my family, they scrimped and saved so that he could have opportunities they never had themselves. And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values; that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.

WHILE I’M PLAYING AWAY AT MY COMPUTER GAMES CONT.
So, that he or she may have much trouble
In getting himself or herself out of the mud
For me, the worst game on my computer to play
Is the ER game because in trying to get my character to get its way
For whatever patient, he wants to triage
This jus may not work for him because through his surge
He may develop in trying to get to his patients in time
Jus may cause him to move around or fly
Down all of the halls, hopefully, not bumping
Into one of the doctors like Carter or Pratt with an umph
Inside of him because Carter is the type of doctor
Who jus loves to take over a character’s patient without muttering
On how well the doctor is doing on his new shift
Jus to get to know all the pretty little nurses
It’s not good for him to get acquainted with all the nurses
Because when it comes down to taking care of a patient
One of these nurses jus may not have enough patience
To put up with all of the resident’s antics from day to day
Jus because for her, staying on his trail might not pay
One of these residents could steer a nurse in the wrong direction
While all the while, thinking that from her, he wants affection
Jus so he won’t end up getting involved with that nurse
And then, all he wants to do is to place her in a curse
So that she can back him up whenever anything
Goes wrong for him on shift, so he’ll get through it, singing

TO BE ABLE TO MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO SUPPORT HER LITTLE ONE AND HER BOYFRIEND WHO HAD LOST HIS JOB, SOME YEARS AGO. SO, THEN, JUS BECAUSE HE WOULDN’T TAKE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF LOOKING AFTERE THEIR LITTLE ONE AT THE TIMES WHEN CHER BEAR HAD TO TRAVEL OVER TO THE RETAIL STORE TO DO THE INVENTORY WHICH SHE HAD TO TAKE TIME TO DO ONCE A MONTH WHEN IT BECAME TIME TO BE DONE. SO, THEN, SHE STARTED LOSING ALL HER TRUST IN HER BOYFRIEND. AND IT WAS AFFECTING THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OTHER TO THE EXTENT THAT THEN, EVEN THOUGH, SHE DIDN’T REALIZE IT, AT FIRST, SHE TOOK A BIG LIKING FOR HER DOCTOR WHILE SHE WAS PREGNANT. AND THIS CAUSED HER TO START TO FALL HEAD OVER HEELS WITH HER DOCTOR, EVERY TIME, SHE WOULD WALK OVER TO THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE TO SEE HIM. THIS WAS JUS BECAUSE BEING SHE KNEW, SHE WAS PREGNANT AND GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY. HER DOCTOR, A VERY NICE FELLOW ABOUT HER AGE, LET HER KNOW THE VERY FIRST TIME, SHE HAD TO GO TO SEE HIM FOR HER APPOINTMENTS. THAT IT WAS VERY NECESSARY TO GET HERSELF CHECKED OUT, ONCE A MONTH, JUS TO MAKE SURE THE FETUS WAS GROWING AT THE REQUIRED RATE. AND THE DOCTOR, NOW, BECOMING A GOOD AND TRUSTWORTHY FRIEND OF HERS, ALSO, HAD TO MAKE SURE SHE WAS KEEPING TO HER DIET. AND THAT SHE WAS TAKING HER VITAMINS AND IRON PILLS. SO THAT THE BABY GROWING INSIDE HER WOULD GROW PROPERLY. AND ALSO, HE HAD TO KEEP CHECKING HER OUT TO MAKE SURE SHE WASN’T DEVELOPING ANY COMPLICATIONS OR TAKING ANY DRUGS, LIKE STREET DRUGS, WHICH SHE WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING. ALSO, HE HAD TO MAKE SURE SHE WASN’T DRINKING. BECAUSE OF ALL THESE THINGS WOULD AFFECT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FETUS OVER TIME. NOW, THAT SHE WAS FALLING FOR THE DOCTOR. ONE TIME, HER BOYFRIEND GREW SUSPICIOUS JUS BECAUSE HE HAS THIS FEELING INSIDE HIM. THAT SHE HAS BEEN GOING TO THE DOCTOR FOR MORE THAN JUS TO SEE HOW THE BABY HAS BEEN DOING INSIDE OF THE WOMB.

SO, THEN, HE WOULDN’T ALLOW HER TO GO THERE ALONE, OR TAKE THEIR LITTLE ONE WITH HER EITHER BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID THAT SHE MIGHT GET THE WRONG IDEA AT SUCH AN EARLY AGE TO WANT THE DOCTOR TO BE HER FATHER INSTEAD OF HIM, CHER BEAR’S BOYFRIEND, WHO, ACTUALLY, THROUGH A DNA TEST HAS ALREADY FOUND OUT, HE’S THE REAL FATHER OF HER LITTLE ONE WHO IS TWO YEARS OF AGE. AND ONE TIME WHEN HE WALKED WITH HER OVER TO THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE, HE WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT THE REASON, SHE HAS BEEN SPENDING A LOT OF TIME OVER THERE AT THE OFFICE, HAS BEEN BECAUSE THE DOCTOR HAS TAKEN TO HER. AND HE CAUGHT THE LITTLE ONE WITH A SUITCASE IN HER POSSESSION WHILE OVER THERE. AND THE SUITCASE ALREADY HAS BEEN PACKED ALONG WITH A BIG CLOTH BAG WITH THE LITTLE ONE’S BELONGINGS INSIDE ALONG WITH MOST OF CHER BEAR’S BELONGINGS INSIDE THE SUITCASE. SO, THEN HER BOYFRIEND BECAME FURIOUS WITH HER. HOWEVER, A NURSE NOTICED THIS AND HAD A POLICEMAN ARREST HIM FOR ABUSING THE LITTLE ONE OVER TIME. SO, THE DOCTOR AND CHER BEAR ALONG WITH THE LITTLE ONE, MOVED INTO THE DOCTOR’S HOUSE TOGETHER. AND HER BOYFRIEND COULDN’T STOP THEM BECAUSE OF A COURT ORDER, CHER BEAR HAD PLACED ON HIM. AND SHE, ALSO, HAS CUSTODY OF THE LITTLE ONE TO HERSELF, AND SO, DID THE DOCTOR WIN HER ACUSTODY TO BE HER FATHER FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE.

While I’m playing away at my computer games,
Sometimes, during one of them, I never get my way
In winning any of them against my computer,
Because it’s one sly machine in being a hooter
Every time, it wins a round in one of my games
Whether it be Carioca Rummy or Gin Rummy in a way
The computer jus likes to be a snitch in beating me
If I’m playing a game against him; it’s not for a fee
Because I can’t get the internet on my computer
Being many games through the internet
Can cast the player against him right into a net

THIS WOMAN THOUGHT SHE WAS IN LOVE UNTIL SHE BECAME PREGNANT FROM HER BOYFRIEND. EVERY TIME, SHE WENT TO SEE HER DOCTOR, SHE FELT THIS UNCANNY URGE TO JUMP INTO HIS ARMS, AT FIRST, SHE COULDN’T FIGURE OUT WHY SHE, ALWAYS, HAS THIS FEELING INSIDE OF HER; EVERY TIME, SHE HAD TO GO FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO GET CHECKED OUT TO FINDOUT HOW HER BABY WAS DOING INSIDE OF HER. BUT SHE COULDN’T UNDERSTAND WHY HER BOYFRIEND WOULDN’T MAKE AN EFFORT TO STAY AWAKE TO WATCH THEIR LITTLE ONE WHILE SHE WAS GONE TO SEE HER DOCTOR WHEN SHE NEEDED TO DO THIS. IN HAVING LIVED WITH HER BOYFRIEND FOR ABOUT A YEAR, SUDDEN FEAR SEEMED TO TAKE HER OVER, CAUSING HER TO NOT WANT TO LEAVE HER LITTLE ONE ALONG WITH HER BOYFRIEND, EVERY TIME, SHE HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE WHETHER IT BE TO TRAVEL TO HER RETAIL STORE WHICH SHE BOUGHT A FEW YEARS AGO. AND JUS BECAUSE SHE WANTED HER OWN BUSINESS. SO, SHE WOULDN’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WORKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE WHO SHE DIDN’T HAVE FULL TRUST IN LIKE OVER AT A FACTORY WHICH SHE USED TO WORK FOR. BEFORE SHE WENT AHEAD AND BOUGHT THIS OLD BUILDING. AND HAD THE MONEY TO TURN THIS EMPTY BUILDING INTO A RETAIL STORE FOR HERSELF. SO, THAT SHE COULD RUN HER OWN BUSINESS. AND THAT WAY, SHE DIDN’T HAVE TO WORRY WHETHER SHE WAS GOING

Scary Movies for Halloween
I'm celebrating Halloween once again by offering an alphabetical listing of the best classic scary films ever made, along with links to help you purchase them if they're available. (All links have been updated as of 2006.) In keeping with the theme of this site, I've listed very few films made after the 80s, but it's hard to avoid the breakthrough sci-fi and horror films made during the late 70s and early 80s. There are also some special horror/sci-fi sites listed in the Classic Films Horror/Sci-Fi Movies list. I've added many new ones to the list this year. Your suggestions, of course, are always appreciated -- just don't ask me to include anything made in the past few years!
Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)First on the list alphabetically, but shouldn't be the first one you see, because much of the humor is in knowing something about the various monsters and watching how the boys play off them. Very funny, and even scary.
The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)Before "Seven," there was "nine" -- the nine biblical plagues, which Dr. Phibes visits upon his victim in one of the best of the Vincent Price horror movies.
Alien (1979)In my opinion, this movie has one of the most frightening alien monsters ever created. Sigourney Weaver is a great heroine, smashing the mold of the helpless damsals in distress of the traditional gothic horror films.
The Birds (1963)Leave it to The Master to turn a flock of birds into malevolent monsters.
The Black Cat (1934)A psychological horror film based on a Poe story, the first joint effort for Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Read the review by Tim Dirks of The Greatest Films site.
Bride of Frankenstein (1935)Considered even better than the original, the movie boasts a great campy performance by Elsa Lanchester.Review by Tim Dirks.
Burn, Witch, Burn (1962)A very nice little low budget, black and white horror film based on Fritz Leiber's novel Conjure Wife. Known as Night of the Eagle in the UK.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919)A stunning experiment in cinematic surrealism and psychological horror that set the tone for many later works. Werner Krauss stars as the hypnotist/showman who travels through a weirdly distorted German countryside and unleashes Cesare, his somnambulist slave, on the townspeople.
Carnival Of Souls (1962)A car plunges off a bridge, and a young woman emerges, apparently unscathed. Wandering off, her odyssey takes her to a strange small town and a carnival pavilion whose patrons walk the line between the living and the dead. Director Herk Harvey's atmospheric low-budget chiller has achieved a cult following. (Includes both the original black-and-white and the newly colorized versions.)
Curse Of The Demon (1956)A psychologist and occult "debunker" played by Dana Andrews finds himself up against a centuries-old blood cult attempting to bring a demon to Earth, and must use lots of skills to pass the runes. Directed by Jacques Tourneur (Cat People). (Includes both the American version and the complete, restored British version, alternately titled Night of the Demon.)
Dawn of the Dead (1978)George Romero's popular follow-up to his seminal 1968 zombie flick, Night of the Living Dead.
The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951)This breakthrough film set the tone for many sci-fi flics which followed. Its intelligence and theory that humans are more of a threat to the universe than vice-versa were refreshing for the times.
Dead of Night (1945)This British film consists of five interwoven stories, all of which have been ripped off more than once, particularly the one about the ventriloquist dummy.
Dracula (1931)Bela Lugosi's signature performance as the great vampire.
Dracula (1979)Frank Langella did such a great job in this film, based on his Broadway performance, that he was almost typecast in the role. Olivier's in it, too, but the play was better, or so they say.
The Exorcist (1973)Recently chosen by TV Guide as the scariest movie of all time. The religious element made it a big draw in the mid-seventies.
The Fly (1958)Half man, half fly, with Vincent Price thrown into the mix. Pretty scary at the time.
Forbidden Planet (1956)This was the first great sci-fi movie I ever saw, and the ending still packs a punch, despite some of the "Lost in Space" aspects at the beginning.
Frankenstein (1931)The acknowledged king of horror films may look like a cliche today, but it created most of those cliches.
Freaks (1932)Tod Browning's disturbing story of circus "freaks" and their special form of revenge on a "normal" woman was and is a cult favorite, banned in many places when it was first released.
Halloween (1978)This early John Carpenter effort set the tone for many slasher flicks to come. None of the sequels measured up. 25th Anniversary DVD
The Haunting (1963)One of the greatest of all haunted house movies makes its point without ever really showing us a ghost. Avoid the recent remake at all costs.
Horror of Dracula (1958)The first of the Hammer horror films, with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee together for the first time, is thought by some to be the best vampire movie of the classic era.
Horror Hotel (1960)A curious co-ed in pursuit of her history studies visits a ramshackle Massachusetts town that had been the site of witch burnings... and lands in the clutches of a coven that has risen from the ashes. Starring Christopher Lee.
House On Haunted Hill (1959)A sinister host, played by Vincent Price offers a group of people $10,000 each if they'll spend the night in his macabre mansion, then does his best to see that no one collects. Directed by the legendary William Castle. (B&W and colorized versions)
I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957)The best of the "teenage" movies starred Michael Landon as the scary pubescent lycanthrope.
The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)Richard Matheson wrote the novel and the screenplay for this film in which common cats and spiders become frightening monsters, thanks to a man's exposure to nuclear radiation.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)When I was a kid, this was the first horror/sci-fi film that I was forbidden to see (probably had something to do with the word "body" in the title). The 1978 remake wasn't bad, either.
Island of Lost Souls (1933)The original version of H.G. Wells' novel, The Island of Dr. Moreau. Charles Laughton makes a very creepy Dr. Moreau, and Bela Lugosi is equally creepy as The Sayer of the Law. If you've seen later versions, particularly the recent Brando remake, be sure to catch this one if you can.
The Invisible Man (1933)Directed by the legendary James Whale (Frankenstein), this original version of the H.G. Wells tale stars Claude Rains, who is a scary character, even though he's rarely seen in the flesh. The film also stars Gloria Stuart, of Titanic fame.
Jaws (1975)Not to be outdone by Hitchcock, Spielberg managed to make people afraid of a fish. In a totally different class from the sequels.
King Kong (1933)Excellent special effects for its day, a beautiful heroine, and a sympathetic monster make this one a keeper.
The Legend of Hell House (1973)Roddy McDowall and Pamela Franklin star in this haunted house film that's a somewhat weaker version of "The Haunting," though still plenty scary and entertaining.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow 1958)One of the scariest Disney animations ever created. I still have childhood memories of the scene where the Headless Horseman threw his pumpkin head at poor Ichabod! It's not Alien, but it's not a Mickey Mouse cartoon, either.
The Val Lewton Horror CollectionAlong with Cat People, I Walked with a Zombie, The Curse of the Cat People, The Body Snatcher, Isle of the Dead, and Bedlam, this five-disc boxed set also includes two exclusive double features. First, a remote New Mexico town is filled with fear when a killer jungle cat is on the loose and a series of savage murders follows in The Leopard Man (1943), with Dennis O'Keefe and Jean Brooks; and the new third mate of a ship discovers his captain is a sadistic maniac in The Ghost Ship (1943), starring Richard Dix and Russell Wade. Next, a young woman comes to New York City to look for her missing sister and uncovers a deadly devil-worshipping cult in The Seventh Victim, starring Kim Hunter, Tom Conway and Jean Brooks; followed by Shadows in the Dark: The Val Lewton Legacy, a documentary look at how the producer's '40s RKO tenure changed the face of screen horror.
Mad Love (1935)Peter Lorre as Dr. Gogol, who grafts the hands of a murderer onto the arms of a great pianist, whose wife Dr. Gogol happens to be in love with.
Masque of the Red Death (1964)Roger Corman and Vincent Price combined for this classy but low-budget version of the Edgar Allen Poe story.
The Mummy (1932)It may look a little creaky after more than 70 years, especially compared to the 1999 remake, but Boris Karloff and the Mummy make a pretty scary combination, nevertheless.DVD Legacy Collection
Night of the Demon (1957)Given the highest rating by voters in the Internet Movie Database poll among all English-language horror movies made before 1982. Starring Dana Andrews.
Night of the Living Dead (1968)George Romero's seminal but low-budget 1968 zombie flick is still about as scary as they get, because in spite of the black and white, it looks real. 1978 sequel was better, but this was the first.
Nosferatu (1922)F.W. Murnau's masterpiece is thought by many to be the greatest vampire movie of all time.
The Old Dark House (1932)Six travelers seek refuge from a storm in a decrepit mansion in Wales, inhabited by a creepy, eccentric family (especially hideously scarred butler Boris Karloff). A classic mix of thrills, scares and laughs from Frankenstein director James Whale. With Charles Laughton, Melvyn Douglas, Ernest Thesiger, Gloria Stuart.
The Omen (1976)Great stars Gregory Peck and Lee Remick star in this story of a little boy discovered by his father to be the Antichrist. Though the movie was actually listed in the book 50 Worst Movies Of All Time, many feel it is one of the best horror movies ever made, and almost Hitchcockian in some of its shots. Hollywood thought enough of it to remake it recently.
The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)One of Vincent Price's best classic horror vehicles, based loosely on the Poe story.
Poltergeist (1982)A very scary film, with an excruciating climactic final scene taking place in a muddy pit full of decomposed corpses. Read the review From The Greatest Films.
Psycho (1960)Hitchcock might not be happy to hear that he started the slasher flick craze, but this is still his most popular film, and one which influenced generations of filmmakers.
Rosemary's Baby (1968)Roman Polanski scared moviegoers in the late sixties with this tale of a woman, played by Mia Farrow, who gives birth to the Devil's child.

Cher Bear walked, aimlessly, around the mountains in North Carolina as she couldn’t miss the blue haze of the mountains. She spent hours hiking amongst the mountains from daylight to dusk, trying to find a place where she would feel comfortable.
However, she wasn’t considering stopping anywhere jus yet until she came across the Smoky Mountains when it, almost, was dusk, this one evening. And all around her, she couldn’t fail to see how the sun seemed to be falling behind the mountain range. This seemed to leave this foggy haze all around her as she was at the peak of the range.
And all she has on her mind at this time of night, is trying to find a spot where she can jus rest her weary muscles as she jus, finally, set down her backpack. And then, with such a thirst in her mouth, she, then, gulped down some water from a big bottle.
Then, amongst a bunch of trees which she could see in the distance, she thought she saw something move through the trees. Instead she decided that it was her mind, playing some tricks on her. But then, as she stared down below the mountains, something seemed to catch her eye as its, barely, light outside, yet, not, completely, dark.
What she did see down there was a woman and a guy, actually, going after each other. The two were having a fist fight, and this, really, seemed to catch her eye.
Then, after a few minutes, the guy, actually, turned around, and punched the girl right in the face. Jus after he ended up giving her, a black eye. The last punch from this guy, sent her down to the rocks which she, now, was lying on. However, the rocks seemed to, miraculously, catch her fall.
However, not knowing if she’s jus seeing things. She thought she saw the guy. Bend over the girl until her face seemed to look very bloody and ghastly-looking. And Cher Bear seemed to have seen this guy from where she stood on the mountain top. Actually, murder this girl until she couldn’t take anymore. And therefore, seemed to lie there on the rocks, lifeless. To Cher Bear, the guy seemed to have gotten, exactly, what he wanted from this girl, once and for all.
Then, as quickly, as the guy and woman had come over to the rocks from the river, they seemed to disappear from sight. At first, Cher Bear thought she was jus seeing things, however she then, realized she, really, jus saw the guy and woman, actually, fighting on the rocks jus below the mountains where she was, now, standing in a state of shock.
She couldn’t seem to get herself out of this state of shock. And it seemed like some guy came along, and actually, saw her, lying on the top of the mountains as she had slipped and fallen. However, it’s a good thing that the surface of the mountains was not hard, because she could have hurt herself, very badly.
So, then, thinking that she’s sleeping on the mountains, the guy, Brody, then, carried her in his arms ever so delicately over to his cabin which was not far away from the area where he happened to find her, Cher Bear.
Jus as he reached his cabin, he then, carried her right inside, and set her upon a day bed in the living room area of his cabin. There, she didn’t seem to respond to his touch as he touched her arm. So, then, he jus remained, right there, by her for about a half hour.
Then, right after the half hour went by, she, suddenly, seemed to come out of her state of shock. And then, she said to him, wondering where in the world, she was at, “Where am I, and who are you, may I ask? You seem to look, oddly, familiar; however I can’t seem to place you at this time.”
“No, I don’t think, I ever met you before, my dear. I was walking on the top of the mountains, Smoky Mountains, when I jus happened to come a cross you. You were lying on the ground, and I thought, you were fast asleep at first. However, when I was carrying you over to my cabin, here, I noticed you open and then, close your eyes with a curious look on your face. Why were you lying on the top of the mountains? Are you alright, my dear?”
“Yes, I seem to feel alright, and I see that you, also, remembered to bring my backpack and bottle with you, too which I can see over there on your table. By the way, my name’s Cher Bear; I’ve been spending hours and hours, walking through the mountains. I’ve been trying to find a place where I would like to settle down, and maybe, get a job over at a diner, somewhere. Does there happen to be a diner in town, may I ask?”
“Yes, Cher Bear, in fact, there’s a diner not too far from my cabin. Would you like me to drive you down there? However, first, I think you need a change of clothes, and something to eat and drink. When’s the last time, you had anything to eat or drink? You appear to have a skinny frame, and look like you need something in your stomach, very badly. You jus lie here, and I’ll bring you back, a good meal, and some Ensure which on a daily basis, will help you gain some weight which you need on your bones before you become Anorexic. And we don’t want that to happen, do we, my dear?”
“I guess you’re right, and in fact, what’s your name, may I ask?”
“My name’s Brody, in fact, I think Cher Bear is a nice name. By the way, I’m going to the kitchen, and you just stay here and rest because you, really, need it. You’d better rest all you can because you look kind of weary. So, I’ll go right to my kitchen and fix you up my famous omelet and some toast and bacon. Also, I’ll bring you some Gator Aid; you need some of that, too.”
So, in the meantime, he walked over to his kitchen, and opened up his refrigerator. He got out some butter, eggs, bread, and bacon. Then, he went to his cupboards, and got out a pan. Upon putting the pan on the stove, he melted some butter.
And then, after the butter was melted, he, then, broke some eggs right into the pan. And after a few minutes, he added some bacon. And while he waited for the eggs and bacon to cook, he, then, toasted a couple slices of whole wheat bread into his toaster.
And in a few minutes, everything was ready, and then, he placed the eggs and bacon on a plate. Then, he added the toast after buttering it up.
Then, he set the pan in the sink, and brought the plate of food over to Cher Bear. And he wasn’t surprised that she ate every bit of her food besides drinking down a lot of Gator Aid with it.
After she’s done eating, he then, took the plate from her, and walked back into the kitchen. And then, he set the plate in the sink, and vowed to himself, to clean up the kitchen before he went to bed. However, being it’s about nine o’clock in the evening, already, he figured he’d wait until morning. And then, in the morning, clean up all the mess in the kitchen. However, at least, he added some water to the pan, so, that it could soak until morning.
Since, he used to be a doctor at one time before he got into an auto accident, and hurt his back, badly, he, then, got out his doctor bag out of his office. And then, upon walking back into the living room area, he saw that she, still, is awake but getting very sleepy being she’s very tired from all that walking, she’s been doing through the mountains.
But, anyways, he went ahead, and checked her out, very thoroughly, giving her, a physical. Since, she already told him by the weary look on her face and her tired eyes, that she wasn’t in peak physical condition. He, then, upon checking her out, found that she had a little bit of a temperature and a slight fever.
So, then, he made her, stay on the day bed, and after giving her, some hot chocolate to help break the fever.
He made her go to sleep early; however, she didn’t seem to be able to fall asleep until about an hour later.
She hadn’t, really, done much talking, that night. And he figured it’s because she isn’t feeling up to par. So, then, he wanted to make sure, she didn’t fall off the day bed, that night. And since, he wanted to check up on her, every so often, to make sure, she’s alright and sleeping, peacefully. He, then, pulled the blue sleeping bag from underneath the day bed. And then, he stayed up awhile jus because he’s worried about her condition. Since, he found her, lying on the mountains, not too long ago, that very evening.
When the morning came around, upon awaking, he noticed that she’s, still, somewhat sound asleep, yet. However, he has the feeling; she’ll be awake, soon, being that he jus figured out. She has been doing an awful lot of walking which could have been days and nights. So, he isn’t going to allow her to leave his cabin.
In fact, he doesn’t think, she’s ready to even consider any work over at the diner, yet, even though, he’s aware, the place is hiring waitresses. Anyways, jus before she awakened that morning, and he has something to eat, some toast because he couldn’t wait for her to wake up.
He, then, called over at the diner to talk to the boss of the place, Debbie, jus because the two happen to know each other very well. That’s, although, she’s a lot older than he is. And that he thinks that he never will and never has considered dating her for any reason.
So, jus as he called over at the diner, Cher Bear happened to wake up some. So, even though, he didn’t know it at the time. She was eavesdropping on him while he made his call over to the diner, that morning.
And upon the owner, Debbie, answering the phone, she’s very surprised to hear Brody’s voice, although, the two are good pals, jus like mother and son.
So, she said to him with much urgency, “Boy, this is sure one big surprise for you to call over here at the diner. Usually, you don’t spark up any conversation with me unless you are over here at the diner. So, what do you have on your mind, this morning, anything interesting?”
“Hello, Debbie, its sure nice hearing your voice. In fact, you happened to mention to me that you need waitresses over there at the diner. In fact, I don’t know when this certain girl will be ready to put in her application over there. However, I jus happened to pick up this young woman, Cher Bear, over on the mountains not far from my cabin. And she jus happened to mention to me, that she would like to work over at a diner as cook. Oh, I see she jus woke up; jus a minute, I’ll put her on the phone.”
So, jus as he walked over to Cher Bear to hand her, the phone, he said to her in an anxious voice, “Guess what, Cher Bear, I have the owner of the diner on the phone. And she needs a cook, pretty bad, right now over at the diner because one of her cooks has jus quit his job, there.
Trying to catch his breath, he said to her, “In fact, when I was over there, yesterday, eating breakfast. Because I was on a run over to my agent’s house for another project to work on. I jus happened to show her, my latest project. And jus by glancing through the first couple of pages on her break. She let me know, she jus loved the introduction. That she thought it would be a sure fire to be a money maker and be published.”
So, as Cher Bear took the cell phone from Brody, she said to the owner, “I don’t, really, live right here in the town. However, as of yesterday, I started living with Brody because I have no other place to go right now. And since, I came from Boston, and it’s far away from here. I doubt if I’ll be going back there, any time, soon, at least, not to live there. I’ve grown quite distant from my family, although, I keep contact with my mother, every so often.”
“Brody jus got through telling me about you, and from what he’s told me. You seem like the perfect person to work under me as a cook. And since, he jus let me know, you were looking for a job or, at least, considering a job as a cook. That I have an opening for you if you would like to consider it whenever you’re ready to settle down in town. How does this sound to you?”
“Oh, I’m very flattered that you, yourself, jus offered me a job over at the diner, there. And I have plenty of cooking experience from back in Boston. I’m feeling better than I have been feeling. Since, I’ve been walking all those hours, night and day. I think I would like to give it a try at working under you jus because Brody told me a lot about you that I, really, like. So, when can I come over there, and have an interview with you?”
“How about sometime this morning, whenever you can make it over here. But this morning would be the best time to talk to me before the daily rush comes in. And I get swamped with customers from all over the mountains.”
“This sounds, really, good to me. In fact, what time

YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST DAY OF FALL, AND SUMMER IS NOW BEHIND US. HOPE YOU ALL HAD A NICE SUMMER WHILE IT LASTED, ESPECIALLY, ENJOYING SOME TIME, SWIMMING WHETHER AT THE BEACH, AT SOMEONE'S HOUSE, OR EVEN AN INDOOR POOL.

TODAY IS GOING TO BE A NICE AND BEAUTIFUL DAY. SO, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS NICE WEATHER AND GO FOR A WALK OUTSIDE, OR JUST SPEND SOME TIME, SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE SUN.

THROWN INTO THE SEA

CHAPTER I

Michael and Cher Bear were inside his cranberry Cadillac Sebring on their way to go on their cruise on Lake St. Clair, one fine sunny day with hardly any clouds in the sky. He was getting very frustrated because the traffic was very heavy. And he was afraid that they were going to be late and not be able to make it on the ship on time.

However, jus when he thought, they weren’t going to make it in time to their cruise; he pulled into the parking lot. And then, in seeing some other couples, boarding the ship, Michael and Cher Bear ran as fast as their feet could carry them. And when they reached the ship, they ran up the stairs to the third floor. And upon taking their seats, the ship jus was taking off for its destination.

Michael felt like a drink, so, then, he said to Cher Bear, “C’mon honey, let’s go to the bottom floor to the inner part of the ship. How about if we both have a drink to celebrate our first night on the cruise?”

“I don’t know if I should have any drinks being that I’m on all this medicine for epilepsy. And for one thing, alcohol doesn’t mix with any medications.”

“Oh, c’mon here, now, one little drink of wine is not going to affect you at all. This white wine which they serve on this boat has very low alcohol content in it. So, how about one drink of wine, and it’ll be on me.”

“Alright, then, Mike, but I’m not going to have anything other than the white wine. It’s the only wine which I know to have hardly any alcohol in it.”

So, then, he took her by the hand being that it’s dusk now, and it’s hard to see where they’re going being that the sun is down by this time. And they reached the entrance of the partying area, and walked inside it.

So, then, they couldn’t help but notice jus how glorious this part of the ship looked being it’s all lighted up. Also, not only is there a bar, there, however this area includes a heated pool with a bright white floor all around it with a bunch of orange and white stripped lounge chairs to relax in.

There, one can, easily, soak in all of the moonlight along with having enjoyment in getting a tan from all of the tanning lights around the outside of the cemented area.

However, some of the couples seem to be on their way up to the second floor where they are going to get some making love in, tonight. Some of the couples, though, are jus going up there for some moonlighting being there’s an area on that floor where some of the couples can enjoy the bright moonlight, coming in through a huge sunroof.

However, Michael and Cher Bear didn’t even have moonlighting on their minds, as the two of them wanted to spend some time near the bar area where there are a few tables.

Also, in that area, there’s a good sized bright white tiled dancing floor. And this dance floor is, seemingly, and, constantly, turning different colors of red, blue, and pink from the lighted glass balls, circling above the dance floor area. On this dance floor, they along with the other couples, sitting at the tables, having a drink or two, can throw one or more dances in during the course of the night if they wish to do so.

So, as the two reached the bar, the bartender appeared so official-looking with his special black suit on with pin stripes in it underneath his black bartender apron.

As Michael and Cher Bear sat down at the bar, Michael said to the bartender, “I would like a couple of glasses of white wine if you have it, here.”

“Sure, we do, sir, we, always, serve the finest drinks, here, during every cruise which this ship takes down the beautiful lake of St. Clair.”

“Yes, we would, sir, and along with the white wine, we both would like an appetizer, a shrimp cocktail would be the best way for the two of us, to spend the evening on this beautiful cruise, tonight.”

So, then, as soon as the bartender served them, their drinks, Cher Bear wasn’t wide awake at the time, so, she was unaware of Michael, having something up his sleeve at this time. Jus when she wasn’t paying attention to him, and keeping her eye on some couples, dancing, he went ahead and spiked her drink.

When she took a couple sips of the white wine, to her, it seemed like the white wine tasted a little funny. However, she jus thought the reason why the white wine tasted differently to her, was because of the taste of her medicine, mixing with the drink. And as soon as she had a few sips of her drink, for some odd reason, she jus didn’t want to drink, anymore.

However, he insisted she drink all of her wine, simply, because the drinks were very expensive on the cruise. And he didn’t want to end up throwing any of his money spent on her, down the drain.

It seemed that as soon as she finished that drink of white wine, he insisted that she have another white wine jus because he wanted to her to enjoy a couple of drinks with him. However, as she’s in the middle of that drink, she started growing very sleepy. So, then, she seemed to fall right asleep in her chair. And since, he didn’t want any attention or suspicion from any of the other couples on the floor at the time, he, then, didn’t know what else to do.

So, then, he scooped her up into his arms as every single couple around them at the time, seemed to be giving out a bunch of oohs and aahs.

So, that he wouldn’t get any more reactions from any more of the couples, he, then, carried her up the steep stairs to the second floor. And he walked up the stairs, ever so softly, so that he wouldn’t disturb any of the other couples up there on that floor.

Upon Michael arriving with Cher Bear near one of the empty cubicles, he, then, carried inside one of them. And upon arriving inside one of them, he, then, set her down on a pretty white cot with blue flowers on it. This jolted her awake somewhat but she wasn’t the least aware of what’s going on around her.

So, then, he felt like he wanted to, really, take advantage of her, tonight. And being the two were on a cruise, he thought this was a good time to do it. So, then, he hopped on top of her, however she kept squirming underneath him. So, then, he got off of her, and then, he shoved some pill down her throat, so that she would settle down.

She settled down, quickly, so, he, again, tried taking advantage of her. He pulled some of her clothes off, and then, he pulled her on top.

And as soon as he did, he tried to make love to her, however, she was so drugged up, that she wouldn’t respond to him.

So, then, he gave up on making love. And as he tried to wake him up, he jolted out of her sleep, again.

And this time, she grew very angry with him, but he wasn’t going to put up with her at all, not tonight on this cruise.

So, then, he carried down to the first floor, and then, set her down as she opened her eyes. She, still, wasn’t aware of all what was going on around her. But he took her back to the bar where he ordered a few beers for himself and a white wine for her.

However, as she wouldn’t drink her white wine, he, then, forced most of it down her throat through putting the glass to her mouth.

Since, the bartender wondered why he’s doing this to her, he told him, “Well, don’t get suspicious because she jus loves it when I shove a drink down her throat. And by the way, I think she’s a little drunk by now, however, still, wants to drink. I know her pretty well by now, and what her preferences are.”

So, then, the bartender didn’t even pay attention to what was going between the two, because he has other couples to serve drinks to. And he, simply, is too busy serving drinks to bother what Michael and Cher Bear are up to at this time.

As he got the last sip of wine down her throat, she jus sat there like she’s in a stupor. And the bartender wasn’t even aware that she’s in one at this time. So, she jus sat there at the bar, as Michael spent a little time, trying to finish his beers.

After he’s done drinking his beers, jus after this, aware that she could tell what was going on because she drank some coffee, he said to her, “Let’s take a walk over to the edge of the boat. Don’t worry about not being able to see where you’re going because being there’s a full moon, tonight, you’ll have plenty of light coming from the moon, itself.”

So, he, then, walked with her out of the area to the outside part of the ship. He, then, being he’s quite drunk at this time, got into a big fight with her jus because he’s stone drunk. She jus didn’t go for him, taking her to the outside of the ship, simply, because she’s having trouble, seeing where she’s going because her eyes seem to be blurry.

As soon as they reached the very edge of the ship, she found herself, hanging onto the fencing of the ship because she could, hardly, stand up, anymore. And she has this fear inside of her of the water below her jus be because she’s afraid she could fall right into it, defenseless.

When she couldn’t take anymore of his yelling at her, it’s surprising that no one else can overhear him, so he jus is lucky at this time, he didn’t get arrested by some guard on the ship.

So, then, he’s jus seething with bloody murder by now jus because he’s mad at himself for shoving some white wine down her. And at this time, she’s jus senseless because of this white wine.

He didn’t know what else to do with her, so, he got carried away, and grabbed her. And the next thing, he knew, he has thrown her overboard. And upon realizing what he’s jus did, he threw a life raft over to her. However, she can’t seem to get a good hold on the rope. So, then, somehow, the rope slid off the raft, and she found herself, holding onto the raft for dear life.

That evening, after he has thrown her into the sea, he, then, doesn’t realize what he has done at first.

In the meantime, later that evening, while she’s, still, fighting for survival, as he was sitting inside the ship partying area, he, suddenly, became sober after drinking some coffee while sitting in a lounge chair near the pool. At first, it came as a shock to him that he started hunting around the pool area, thinking, he might have thrown her into the pool. However, he doesn’t see her anywhere around the pool area, or even in the area where the bar and dance floor are at.

Upon arriving inside the partying area, he went from one couple to another, asking each one if anyone has seen a woman with long, blonde hair, and a beautiful smile, wearing a white gown with sequins on it. However, he couldn’t get a good response from anybody.

So, then, he walked all around the outside of the partying area with a flashlight, and he can’t seem to find her, anywhere. So, he walked around near the fence area, and upon seeing someone, whom he can’t make out in the distance, figured that he must have thrown her overboard.

CHAPTER II

And now he felt guilty inside for having done this to her. However, since, she seems to be far away by now, he couldn’t do anything to rescue her. So, he walked back into the partying area, and then, up the stairs where he started daydreaming of moonlighting with her. However, this didn’t seem to help him out, one bit.

So, then, he jus entered one of the empty cubicles, and lay down on one of the white cots with purple flowers on it. And he couldn’t even bring himself to enjoy the rest of the evening while the ship was on its cruise which was supposed to last at least three days. So, then, he realized he couldn’t do anything about his woman until he arrived back to where he started from on his cruise.

However, then, he jus realized that she, really, is in danger because he and all the other couples on the ship, that night, are aware of a bad storm brewing on the sea. So, then, he and the other couples who were inside the ship started filing upstairs to the second floor. And hopefully, there, all of the couples would be able to find some shelter from the storm about to hit the ship.

And the other couples who were in the partying area or around the pool, jus played it smart, or thought it was a smart thing to stay right where they were. And it’s a good thing that there aren’t any couples near the fencing on the first floor because in that area, it wouldn’t be a good place to be when a storm is about to hit.

And since, the waves outside the ship, really, were starting to get fierce, the captain decided to turn around to try to avoid being caught in the middle of a bad storm. And then, right after he has the ship, turned around, then, every couple on the ship at that time, suddenly, are aware, that the Captain has turned the ship around. And all of them know this is a sign that a bad storm, really, a fierce one, was jus ahead of them the other way.

So, all the couples could do at this time, is to stay undercover where they are at this time. And since, the ship was going the other way, all they could do is pray and hope, that the ship doesn’t encounter a storm on the way back to the beginning where the ship, first, took off at the docks.

In the meantime, Cher Bear found herself struggling to stay afloat in the waves. And she’s aware that a storm’s brewing out there on the sea. So, then, she grew very scared, and wondered why Michael threw her out into the sea. But at this time, there’s nothing she can do but, frantically, fight to stay alive on the sea.

Right now, it won’t do her any good to be mad at him and being that the shore wasn’t too far away, she, frantically, found herself, swimming as fast as she could to the shore. And when she couldn’t swim, anymore, as the shore, now, seemed to be further than she had anticipated, it seemed, as though, she couldn’t breathe, anymore, jus because a wave overcame her.

Being that the water temperature, actually, brought her body temperature down past freezing, this stopped her from drowning. And then, she slipped into a coma, and, actually, started floating to shore.

However, once, she reached the shore, it jus so happened to be another guy, a stranger to her, walking down the shoreline. And it was only an hour later when the guy happened to notice Cher Bear’s body, floating near the shore.

So, then, he hurriedly grabbed her into his arms, and then, he quickly carried her up to his cabin which wasn’t far away at all. And upon him, reaching it, he walked inside with her, still, in his arms. And right away, he took off her wet clothes, and wrapped her in several warm blankets including a heating blanket.

In what seemed like jus about an hour later or so, she, suddenly, came out of her coma. And he has been lying on the floor in a sleeping bag, jus waiting for her to come out of her coma.

Since, she was talking to herself, it woke him up, so, then, he walked over to her, and said to her in a desperate voice, “What is your name, my dear? Can you remember your name, or do you know where you are, or how you got here, in the first place?”

“No, I can’t remember anything; by the way, where am I, right now? Here, I am lying on this couch, here, with hardly any clothes on. And I can’t seem to remember a darn thing.”

“Well, for one thing, my dear, I found you, lying in a coma on the shore. So, then, I carried you inside my cabin, here, and wrapped you in all those blankets. Do you want anything to eat or drink at this time? You must be very hungry and thirsty by now.”

“Yes, I would like something to eat and drink. If you have any bread, I would like some eggs and toast, and some coffee, that’s decaffeinated or some decaffeinated tea or I think some hot chocolate would be better.”

“Some hot chocolate and eggs and toast are coming your way. In fact, don’t you remember me, at all? I’m your husband, Ted, and these three kids by the couch are all mine and yours, too.”

“I don’t remember getting married to you, though, and neither do I remember the children either.”

“Well, we are all your family and we were married jus a few years ago. And jus after we got married, you were pregnant with triplets. And that’s why you have three kids to your name.”

So, then, he walked to the kitchen, and made some eggs and toast and hot chocolate for her. In fact, he jus threw the eggs into the pan and made some scrambled eggs. And in the meantime, he toasted some bread for her in the toaster.

As he brought all this food back to her, he has her, sit up on the couch with a portable tray on her lap. And as he set the food on the tray, the kids sat down next to her, and while she ate, none of the kids knew what to say to her because at first, none of them thought she was their mother.

However, Ted said to his kids which was hard for them to accept at the time, “Hey, kids, she is your mother from my last marriage. She has been, here, on the couch for about an hour or so. You kids were too young when I split up with her. That’s why none of you remember her.”

Then, he said to all of his kids, “Now, it’s time for all of you to go to bed. C’mon, your mother has to get her beauty sleep, and get a chance to recover for she has been in a coma. Now, get going and hurry upstairs to bed before you kids get me mad, and I have to spank each one of you.”

So, then, all of the kids, finally, accepted her as their mother. And
Even though, it’s hard for Cher Bear to accept them as her kids, she did make an effort to believe Ted, and the kids were all her family. And she couldn’t even remember having a boyfriend, Michael, who has been the one, who got her into this coma after throwing her overboard on a cruise ship.

Then, all of the kids ran up the stairs to their room as they all shared one room jus because they are triplets. And jus after they all were upstairs, then, he said to Cher Bear, “Now, jus lay on the couch and rest; you need all the rest, you can possibly get now. I put the television on for you, so, that you can watch it. There’s a good movie on right now which I think, you’ll love watching.”

“Will you stay right here in the room with me, in case I grow tired of watching television, and want to go to sleep for the night?”

“Sure, I will, my dear Sheila. In fact, I’ll stay right here on the couch with you. Will that be alright for you, my dear?”

“Of course, I don’t mind you being with me on the couch. By the way, you’re my husband, so, you deserve to spend all the time, and you can with me.”

So, then, after Cher Bear and Ted sat on the couch, together, as soon as the movie was over with, he then, said to her in a loving way as if he’s her real husband, “My dear Cher Bear, it’s getting late; it’s going on eleven o’clock, so, don’t you think, you should get some sleep, now? Since, you’re my wife, when the morning comes around; you’re going to have plenty on your hands, now. If you feel that you’re ready to do housework, again, by tomorrow morning, you can do some.”

“As far as housework goes, I think I should wait about a week to attempt any because you said I jus came out of a coma. I need my rest real badly now, that is my main concern at this time.”

“But your main concern is going to be getting the kids, their breakfast in the morning, and then, getting them all off to school. Since, they all are very smart for their age, although, the kids are only old enough to go to elementary school, they’ve been attending junior high, already. Not only that, I’m sending every one of them to boarding school, tomorrow. So, it jus might be quite emotional for you to say goodbye to them in the morning.”

“Are you sure, you’re doing the right thing by sending the kids to boarding school? I think that it’s going to be quite strict for the kids to be able to go to such a school as this.”

“It’s going to be a private school which my mother, herself, attended when she was younger. In fact, she’s the one who told me about this school. Don’t worry about the kids; you’ll be able to keep in touch with them through me, taking you to see them, every weekend. So, now, don’t try to walk up the stairs, yet, being you might be a bit unstable, yet. Here, let me, help you, put a jogging suit on; my wife left me, and left some of her clothes, here. So, I’m sure her clothes will fit you being she was the same size as you.”

So, then, she allowed him to help her off of the couch after he set the portable tray aside. And then, being the kids were asleep by now, he, then, took her into another room which has the blinds closed. And there, he helped her into a green jogging suit.

And afterwards, he carried her back to the couch. And then, he turned the television off, and after he has her, comfortable on the couch with a heating blanket on top of her to keep her, warm, he, then, fell asleep on the floor near her on a sleeping bag jus in case during the night or morning, she needed any help at all.

In the morning, she made sure that all of the kids were off to school on a special bus, and on their way to the private school for kids like them who are extra smart for their age. And jus after she got the kids to board the bus right in front of the cabin, then, she started getting some of her memory back. As she did, she, suddenly, realized that the guy, she’s staying with inside the cabin, seems, suddenly, to be like a stranger to her.

Also, she’s getting memory back of the night before when her boyfriend happened to get very drunk. And then, in him, having the guts to throw her overboard, although, now, he’s feeling very guilty for doing such to her.

In the meantime, the ship on which she was on a cruise the night before with her boyfriend, Michael, has been on the sea, all night long, trying to get back to where the ship, first, had left for the cruise.

What it, really, was that awoke him and all the other couples, early that morning, was that the Captain used a bull horn to announce that everyone, has, safely, reached the area where the ship had, first, taken off at dusk the night before.

And then, when he announced that there’s a free breakfast, going on in the partying area, every one of the couples were, still, in their same clothes which they all have been in all night long during the cruise.

So, upon, hearing the Captain over his bullhorn, then, Michael, finally, realized, that maybe if he hurried down and had some breakfast with the other couples, that once off the ship, he, probably, could hunt down his girlfriend.

All the while he’s eating breakfast in a buffet style with the other couples, he, suddenly, has the feeling inside him, that maybe, if he hurried and got off the ship with the other couples, that some angel could lead him to where his girlfriend might have disappeared.

As he started filing off the ship with the other couples, he noticed a cabin in the distance. And a funny feeling overcame him that he should go over to that cabin. So, as he reached the docks, he, really, didn’t have the confidence in himself to go too far. He didn’t want to have to go on a hike to get to this cabin.

For some odd reason, this cabin looked, really, familiar to him, and he couldn’t figured out this was so. So, then, he decided he has all the guts, it takes to reach this cabin. Then, in not knowing how far away this place was, he decided that he has enough money to get some food and whatever he needed at a store jus near the ship.

So, he started walking in the sand over to this store, and upon entering this store, wasn’t surprised to find that it has, practically, everything; one could want to take on a cruise or trip, anywhere, like hiking.

While he’s at the store, he, even, bought himself some hiking equipment. Also, he filled a knapsack which he bought there with food and Gator Aid. And deciding he, now, has everything he, possibly, could need for a hike, he started on his way over the sand which was like desert sand. And while he’s hiking, he ends up walking for what seemed to him like a couple of hours through the desert-like area.

This, really, isn’t a desert; however the land is so dry, there, in that area, mostly, because the rain count has been below normal for at least the month. And as he’s walking, the sand seemed to be squishy underneath his feet.

And before he realized it, he made it to the cabin, although, he’s somewhat tired from all that walking. And as he went to the door, he knocked on the door, and Ted’s the one who happened to answer the door.

And then, Michael said to him in a desperate voice, “Have you seen a woman, lately, who has long brown hair and a tall build?”

“In fact, I rescued a woman, last night by the shoreline of Lake St. Clair. And when I had done so, it jus happened that the very description of the gal, you jus told about, sounds like the same gal. However, I’m not so sure of this because there could be many women who fit this description.”

“May I come inside, sir? I’d like to talk to this woman, and see her. I’ve been missing my girlfriend since last night. And it’s possible that she could be here at the cabin right now.”

As he’s, still, standing in the doorway, he has to take a few, deep long breaths to get his composure jus in case he does happen to bump into his woman, here, at the cabin.

And he’s, still, feeling very guilty inside for having gotten himself, so drunk, that he allowed this strange feeling to overcome him to throw her, overboard. And jus later on, when he realized, he had done this to her, he, really, felt like he had lost her for good. Also, he didn’t know that whatever he had done to her, had been responsible for putting her into a comatose like she was in when Ted had found her, lying on the shore, this morning.

So, then, as Ted allowed him to come inside, he then, said to Michael, “Are you sure, you’re ready to face her at this time? She may, still, be suffering from a case of amnesia which has been brought on by her, having been in a coma.”

“I guess I’m as ready as I’ll ever be at this time. So, is she, really, here, at this time, so, I can try to reason with her?”

“You’ll find out soon enough if she’s the very woman whom you’re talking about. And if she doesn’t remember you, I don’t know what you’re going to do about the situation between you and her at the present.”

So, jus as Ted took him into the living room, she jus happened to be resting on the couch. However, as she overheard footsteps in the living room, this seemed to jolt her out of her sleeplike trance.

And as she opened her eyes, she said to Ted, “Do I know you from somewhere? You seem to look very familiar to me. Are you the guy who happened to get me drunk last night? And then, you, in being so drunk, yourself, actually, tossed me into the water.”

“C’mon, my dear Cher Bear, you remember who you are, now, don’t you?”

As she stood up from the couch, she said to him in a surprised voice, “Maybe, I have been a coma, last night, however, there’s no way, I could have ever forgotten who you are.”

“Then, what is my name, and who am I to you, my dear?”

“I remember very clearly who you are. You are Michael, and supposedly, you’re my boyfriend. However, don’t think for one minute, that I could ever forget what you pulled on me, last night. Ted, you aren’t my husband, either, and neither do I have three kids in a private school. I never have had any kids being I never have gotten pregnant out of wedlock. And another thing is, that being my memory is back, it was such a rotten thing, you’ve been pulling on me, Ted. How could you have me, make love with you, and while I was having amnesia of all things?”

“C’mon now, my dear, I, only, made love to you, only, because it has been out of your free will, that I do so. I didn’t force you into making love with you. You’re the one, who told me, that you wanted to make babies.”

“So, I did, didn’t I, Ted. Well, now, that my memory is coming back, I guess, that I did succumb to making love to you. And the only reason, I’ve done so, is because I don’t want, you, Michael, of all things, to be my boyfriend, anymore. Jus get out of here, right now, before I get Ted to push you out of this cabin. Ted’s the one who I, now, am, really, in love with, not you, Michael.”

Then, Ted said to him, “If you don’t get out of this cabin, right now, I’m going to call the police, and if the police have to come to this place to force you out of here, you, definitely, are going to end up in jail. And it won’t be my fault, as I jus warned you about getting out of my cabin.”

So, then, Cher Bear said to Michael, “I don’t trust you, anymore, jus because you threw me, overboard, and I, almost, died last night jus because I had to use every ounce of energy, I had inside me, to swim into shore. And then, I’m jus lucky that going into a coma, last night, didn’t end up killing me because I, actually, have been at death’s bed, all night long. And that coma which Michael told me, I came out of, and which made me suffer from amnesia, actually, saved my life.”

After getting her breath because Michael caused her to become breathless, she then, said to him in a frantic voice, “ So, I don’t love you, anymore, Michael; and whether you like it or not, I love having three triplets to take care of, Ted’s kids, especially, because I never have been able to have any kids of my own. And I don’t care if you end up in jail jus because you, almost, killed me through throwing me, overboard during our cruise. So, all I can say is that you’d better get out of my life and leave now before Ted gets into a fight with you. Because during the time, I’ve known him, he’s got a very good temper.”

“What overcame you, Cher Bear? I thought that in going on this cruise with you, that this cruise, actually, was a premonition to us two, getting married, some day.”

“Nothing overcame me, Michael, it’s, mostly, that I’ve never trusted you, any time, you have gotten yourself, drunk. Now, you’d better leave, or you are going to be sorry, you didn’t. And if you, really, have to know about this. Ted and knew each other as high school buddies, and back in high school, us to got separated, somehow, although, back then, the two of us, already, had plans to get married in the future.”

So, then, because Michael wouldn’t leave the cabin in due time, some police came walking inside the cabin. And before he, actually, realized what was going on, he was in handcuffs, and being dragged off to a police car in their custody.

And since, he had thrown Cher Bear overboard, the night before, he was charged with attempted murder, and he’s going to have to stay in jail for a life term because he has no good lawyer to back him up in his case. And, although, no one, actually, caught him throwing Cher Bear over into the water, he, still, is not going to be able to be freed of the charge of attempted murder against him.
