CROOKED HEARTS

INTRODUCTION:

David, still, found him, caught in a fantasy world with Jeanette, his former girlfriend, whom he, still, loved dearly, until one day, when he happened to run into another woman, Maria, whom he thought was very pretty and becoming to him. This woman has a very nice personality, and jus happened to have a tall build and long blond hair jus like Jeanette, the one who moved to Milwaukee with her family.

And this woman, Maria, turned out to be about ten years younger than him, like his last girlfriend, Jeanette, being he seemed to be attracted to woman, who were younger than him.

These two, Dave and Maria, jus happened to fall in love at first sight, one day, over at a school in Los Angeles, which was the most popular school in the city.

When the two jus met each other, they jus happened to bump into each other, when they both were in line, getting their food. And then, because he, really, thought, she was a real pretty woman and gorgeous, he encouraged her to sit at the nearest empty table to eat lunch with him, one sunny and hot afternoon.

And from that day on, the two took a liking to each other, and he found himself, falling for her.

Also, on the first day, the two had met; he had jus started teaching over at the school.

So, then, the two decided to each lunch, together, every day. So, then, besides seeing each other during the day while they both were on shift on their teaching jobs over at the school, almost, right away, the two, also, started getting, together, on the weekends when both of them had free time, of which to make use.

Although, she has been teaching, full time, for about a year, he was jus a substitute teacher, there, over at the school.

Then, the two started going steady with each other, being they were seeing each other, every afternoon on their lunch breaks during the days, on which the two were teaching.

He was jus a substitute teacher at this time, because that’s all he was able to get for a job at that particular school. And the only subjects, which he could teach, there, were auto mechanics and workshop, because this had been his main curriculum in college.

CHAPTER I

Two years later, being Dave and Maria have been in love with each all this time, one day, when Dave jus happened to have planned to met Maria, right in front of the school after their teaching shifts were over, it turned out he has a big surprise for her.

Jus as soon as she met him in front of the school, he took her by the hand, and then, led her right to his car which was a ’67 sky blue Korvette.

As the two reached his Korvette, jus before driving her over to his apartment, a few block away from the school, he has her climb into the back seat of his car on one fine sunny hot day in Los Angeles.

She jus happened to live very close to the school, and has been walking back and forth to her shift, practically, every time, she has had a teaching shift.

Then, to her surprise, he dug into his pants pocket, and pulled out a black velour case. Since, she has ESP in her; she kind of knew beforehand what was in the black case, which he was holding in his hand. So, she has starry eyes as he flicked the case open, and drew out this gorgeous diamond ring, which was two karat gold.

So, he said to her in an ecstatic voice, as he handed the ring over to her for observance, and then, placed it on her finger, “At this time, I am feeling very nervous over the whole thing, however I want to make this proposal to you, my dear, Maria. Will you marry me, my dear Maria?”

“I can’t believe what I’m hearing from you. I thought it never would come to this point in our relationship. Yes, I, really, do want to marry you, and have some kids, too.”

“There jus happens to be something else I would like to discuss, while I’m driving you over to my apartment. Well, can you squeeze in some time, tonight, to spend me over at my place?”

“Sure, I could, I have a lot to do for school, however, although, I, really, don’t seem to have as much as I, usually, do to work on. It so has jus happened that it has turned out to be the best time for planning something else, because it, always, seems to be the right time to do something else. What is it; you have on your mind for tonight? I know, one thing, that ever since, we, first, met each other, neither one of us have been able to find even a few minutes, to spend any time in bed with each other.”

“I can’t believe it, my darling, that’s, exactly, what I have on my mind for tonight. Are you horny enough to spend some time in my water bed with me, tonight, my dear?”

“You jus happened to catch me at a good time. Right now, I seem to be at my peak of feeling horny. So, tonight, seems to be for me, one of the best times, ever, to have a little bit of that love of yours.”

Then, all of a sudden, jus realizing, that he hasn’t been watching his driving, very carefully, she said to him in a frantic voice, “Hey, Dave, watch out where you are going? Maybe, you shouldn’t talk any more about what we’ve jus planned for tonight, until us; actually, arrive over at your apartment.”

“Boy, I jus happened to dodge that car beside me. I hope that whoever is driving that little red car beside us isn’t planning to kill one of us, because that guy was awful close to my car, jus now.”

“Oh, don’t be silly, who would want to kill us, for one thing, every one who works over at this high school, which we are teachers for, seems to have, always, liked both of us. Unless, of course, one of the students has revenge against one of us, for some odd reason, which can’t be comprehended.”

“No, every student, which you and I have taught over at this school, has liked us both as teachers, so this can’t be possible, that any of our students have taken a dislike to any of us in any way.”

“Oh, finally, that red car has disappeared from our sight. And whatever the driver of that car, has in mind, couldn’t have been revenge. I think that he’s jus had too much too drink. However, you’ve got to be careful when someone, who’s drunk, is on the road, because this means, that he’s not fully aware of what he’s doing at that time.”

“Hey, I recognized that guy; he’s from my auto mechanics class. In fact, he’s one of my best students in both workshop and auto mechanics. Ever since, he’s been in both of my classes, he has been getting solid A’s. So, this guy is one smart student, however, sometimes, I’ve smelled alcohol on his breath in class. So, I’d better do me and him both a favor, by giving his parents, a call, and to find out, why he’s been drinking, when he shouldn’t be doing it while he’s on medication for epilepsy. Because drinking and medication jus don’t mix, and I don’t want to lose a good student of mine.”

So, Dave and Maria jus pulled into the driveway of the apartment complex, and once, he parked his sky blue Korvette in his parking space, he and Maria hopped out of his car. And then, the two headed for his apartment, and once, they were inside, he, then, set his jacket down on a Victorian style white and orange couch.

After she followed suit with her black leather jacket, then, he took her by the hand. And then, abruptly, let go, and to her surprise, he then, scooped her up into his arms. So, that her blue skirt jus seemed to be, almost, caught around her legs.

However, to him, she seemed to look so pretty, today, dressed in her white blouse, and blue skirt, which, actually, was a mini skirt. However, she was so tall, that the mini skirt jus seemed to stick to her legs.

Once, the two were inside his bedroom, he, then, carefully, set her down on his waterbed, which has brown oak wood as a base. And then, as he plumped himself on his waterbed, the darn waterbed jus seemed to have a mind of its own, as it jus moved as if they were floating in a lake. And she jus loved the feeling of airiness, which the waterbed was giving her, tonight.

He didn’t waste any time, getting into whatever he has planned for the night on his waterbed.

He jus placed his hands on her face, and without her, realizing, exactly, what he was getting into, he started to French kiss her, moving his tongue, ever so wildly around her mouth, until she started sighing and couldn’t take, anymore.

And then, he jus pulled her on top of him, and started to kiss her, ever so tenderly, some more. And when he thought, he had started the night with enough kissing, he, gently, rolled her onto her side. Then, he started taking off her clothes until she was naked from the waist up. And she, still, had her skirt on, however, it, still, seemed to be sticking to her like glue, being it was a muggy night.

He pulled her back on top of him, and then, realized, for some odd reason, that he was losing some of the emotion inside of him. So, to bring all the emotion of the night back inside him, he got her in some more French kissing.

Without her, even being aware what in the world, he’s getting into, he, somehow, managed to pull off the rest of her clothes while she was lying on top of him.

Before she realized what was going on, the two, actually, were making love for the first time in their relationship. And she jus loved making love, however, through her mind, seeped the words, “Why didn’t I take my birth control pill, this morning? Oh no, I’ve heard that if a woman even misses one day, she can get pregnant.”

So, then, she, actually, found herself, pulling away from him, and then, he was wondering what the matter was. So, she told him in a frantic voice, “Oh no, my Dave, I don’t remember taking my birth control pill, today. I think I forgot to take it. And I don’t happen to have any with me, because if I did, I would have remembered to take it before having any sex with you. Well, I’ll find out in nine months, if I happen to have a baby with you.”

“You must be kidding me, my dear, if you knew that you forgot to take your pill, you should have told me. Because then, I would have waited until another night, when you were sure that you took it. Well, don’t’ be surprised if you get pregnant, and we end up having a baby, unless you want to get an abortion.”

“An abortion would turn out to be the very last thing; I would want to go through, now. I guess we’ll jus have to wait and see, if I get pregnant or not, and the odds are pretty good, that I will.”







































CHAPTER II


After the two made love, they jus lay beside each other for awhile, and then, about an hour later, she jus happen to realize what time it was. It was too late for her to go home, and then, to have enough time to take a shower or change her clothes.

So, then, she jus got up out of bed, and took a shower right at his apartment, and because she was going to, he decided to take one with her. And the two had a lot of fun soaping each other up, and then after rinsing themselves off, the two jus walked naked to his bedroom.

Once, the two arrived inside his bedroom after having dried themselves off, then, making sure that his apartment was securely locked, the two, then, fell asleep beside each other in his waterbed.

And then, once, the morning came, it’s a good thing, that she jus remembered in the morning, that she didn’t have to teach, that day and neither did he.

He was the first one out of bed. So, then, he walked over to the kitchen, and cooked a good breakfast for the two of them, some bacon, eggs, and sausage. It didn’t take him very long to cook the breakfast, and by the time, it was done, she jus happened to be waking up at that time.

Since, she felt too lazy to walk over to the dining room to eat, being she felt very tired from staying up late, the night before, he then, brought her breakfast over to her.

Once, he arrived inside his bedroom, he set his and her breakfast on a dresser, nearby. Upon doing so, he set up two trays, which were setting nearby the waterbed. And then, the two ate breakfast, together, actually, eating each others’ breakfast, jus because she felt like they should eat that way, this morning, jus because she felt closer to him, since, yesterday, jus because he happened to propose to her.

BACKFLASH

About a year or so ago, Dave had met this blond, long-haired gal, Jeanette, who had happened to be a pretty and gorgeous and tall woman with angular features, over at the famous restaurant, there, in the heart of Los Angeles. And she had happened to be his waitress, that evening. So, he had ordered a cocktail along with a steak dinner, one of the finest dinners, for which the restaurant had been known for many years.

It had turned out to be love at first sight for the two on the very first night, on which the two had met.

Then, after her shift had been over, that same night, on which the two had, first, met, he met her, again, at about nine o’clock at night, that evening, for a cocktail or two. And then, she had joined him over at the bar, being he had been at the bar, jus having a couple of cocktails, ever since, he had ordered some dinner, that night.

After that night, being the two had become very well acquainted with each other, he had become so hung up on her, that the two had started meeting every single night during the week after her shift, whenever he had been able to put aside the time to spend with her, being that, at that time, he had a job over at the warehouse in the city.

After the two had known each other about a span of six months, then, although, she, really, hadn’t wanted to break up with him, being she had been living with her family, her parents had decided to move away from Los Angeles. And she had no choice, at that time, but to move away with them, jus because she had no other place to go to live.

On the night, jus before the very day, on which the family had moved to Arizona, being that her parents jus loved living in Arizona, because they loved hot weather, Dave’s girlfriend had promised to write him. So, that the two could keep in touch with him, after she and her parents and only brother had moved to that desert-like state.

However, although, Dave and Jeanette had written many love letters to each other, after her and her family had moved, and he had, always, through his love letters, reminded her, jus how much he had been falling in love with her. One day, the two, suddenly, had seemed to have lost touch with each other, jus because she wouldn’t answer any more of his love letters. This has happened jus because she had, unfortunately, to him, fallen in love with another guy, whom she had been working with for jus over a three-month period, still, being a waitress at the same restaurant, at which, her and Dave had, first, met.

Although she hadn’t written any more love letters to Dave, he had continued to write her, his love letters, which letters, she never had answered back to him. And, in her last letter to him, she, at least, had let him; she had been drawn to some guy, whom she had met not long ago.

However, this hadn’t seem to stop Dave, from writing any more love letters to her, being he, still, had been in love with her, and hadn’t been able to get her off of his mind.

In fact, every love letter, Jeanette had sent him; he had kept in this special safe. This he had done on purpose, because he didn’t want any other girlfriend of his, finding out jus where they have been kept. Also, he hadn’t, at the time, wanted any other girlfriend, to know that he, still, had been holding on to these love letters.

He had figured, that if any other girlfriend happened to get hold of these letters, that he had been afraid that one of them would have ended up dumping him, jus because he, still, was locked in a fantasy world with Jeanette. And he, still, had been in love with her, although, she, still, has been out of touch with him, and hasn’t been in love with him, anymore.

At least, he had thought, that no one ever would have had a chance to get a hold of any of these letters, which he had written to Jeanette, even the letters, which had Jeanette’s signature on them. Also, included in his safe with these letters, had happened be the ones, which he had written to himself about Jeanette.

After he had stopped hearing from her, he had seemed to have sunk into a fantasy world, as a result, of not being able to get the thought of loving her off of his mind.

His current girlfriend, Maria, spent many nights over at his apartment, which was, mostly, on the weekends, because the two of them had to keep up with their teaching jobs.

And what she jus loved teaching was gym along with her other subjects, which she taught, like English, Science, and Math. She wasn’t going to school, to take up any subjects at this time, and neither was he.

However, he felt that, in order, to keep up with the modern times that he has to start taking more classes in auto mechanics. So, since, he has to keep up with substitute teaching, he, then, took auto mechanics at a college, which was a little far from where he was living.

However, being that he, then, has to take even more classes, besides auto mechanics at college. And at Los Angeles College, he got himself, caught into a full-time schedule, and as a result, has to quite substitute teaching, until he was finished with his classes, which would take, at least, a couple of semesters to finish.

Since, he kept himself, very busy, even on the weekends, and was staying a dorm on college campus, then, he has to stop seeing Maria for awhile, which was a little hard on Maria’s and Dave’s relationship.

However, at the end of the second semester, as soon as he finished his courses, the two were planning to get married, because at any time, she could be having her baby, if she ended up having a baby, prematurely. And she had to give up her teaching, until after the baby, if it made it to its birth, and until after it had been weaned off of breast feeding.

Also, she has to concentrate on taking care of herself, and getting plenty of rest, so, that when it comes time for the baby to born, that she’ll end up, having a healthy one with no abnormalities.

During all this time, in which he was going to college, he, still, managed to find time to write her, love letters, which of every one, she answered, he kept in his safe with the letters from Jeanette, his past love.

One morning, when Maria jus was getting out of bed, she was starting to feel some weird pains inside her. And by these weird pains, she then, knew that she must be going into labor.

So, then, she gave Dave, a call over at his apartment. And it’s a good thing that he, still, was home at the time, and hadn’t gone back to school, to teach, because this was a desperate call for her, especially, being that the two haven’t gotten around to having those Lamaze classes, which they had been planning to attend. And the reason, they haven’t gone to any of the classes, is because he hasn’t had any time to take any of them. And another thing was that he hasn’t gotten his job back at the school to teach auto mechanics and woodshop.

He has been hoping to be able to get a job as soon as he completed some courses over at the college. However, upon having returned back to his apartment, he hasn’t had any luck in any way to get a teaching job over at the same school.

Every other school, which he has tried, hasn’t had any openings for him, although, he’s been going through the college to get help in placement of a school job. However, for some odd reason, some of the schools have been laying off all of their substitute teachers. So, that’s why he hasn’t got a job in about a month, yet.

He jus happened to be inside his bedroom at the time, his phone rang, and as he answered the phone, he was surprised to find Maria on the phone, because he didn’t expect her to be calling over at his apartment at six o’clock in the morning.

So, then, she said to him in a frantic voice, not knowing what to do next, “Hey, Dave, you won’t believe what’s happening to me. I’ve jus started to have these pains in my stomach, and because I’m not even due to have my baby, yet. I need you over here at my apartment, because I’m jus starting to have labor contractions. So, can you get over here at my apartment, right away? Also, my water has broken, so, that’s s definite sign that I’m in labor.”

“Don’t worry, my dear Maria, I’ll be over there in a few minutes. But in the meantime, jus try to relax, and I hope you have had some breakfast, because you might not have time for it, once, we get to the hospital. By that time, you have to be taken to maternity ward.”

“Don’t worry about me, my dear, I have had my breakfast, already, because before I, actually, started going into labor, I, quickly, had some oatmeal. So, please get over here, right away, without fail.”

So, then, he hung up the phone, and actually, upon grabbing some coffee from the kitchen, being he jus had eaten some breakfast, he didn’t have to worry about bringing any food with him. This is because he can, always, grab some food over at the hospital, if she happens to have a long labor, which she, probably, will be having.

In no time at all, he jumped into his Korvette, and then, he sped over to her apartment, being lucky, to not have to be stopped by the police for speeding.

In five minutes, he pulled into the apartment complex parking lot, and parked his car in a handicapped zone, because he would have to get her to the hospital without wasting any time in doing so.

Then, on one sunny but mild day, he, actually, jumped out of his car, and ran into the apartment building. Being her apartment was on the first floor, it was very convenient for him and for her, too. He knocked on her apartment door, and at first, couldn’t seem to get an answer. So, he started getting very worried, and knocked on the door, even harder.


As he was doing so, some neighbor walked out of his apartment, and told him, to cut out all the knocking. And as he told him this, he wondered, how she put up with him day in and day out, being she couldn’t go anywhere the last month or so, because she had to concentrate on taking care of herself.

Finally, Dave said to the neighbor in a frantic voice, “Cut that out, I’m here to help out your neighbor. She is about to have a baby, and you’re out here in the hall, creating a havoc out here. Settle down, because I can’t afford to get upset at this time. I have to stay calm, so that I’ll be able to help her out all through her labor.”

So, then, he replied in anger, “Okay, mister, you have it your way. But once, you are inside her apartment, be sure to let her know, that I hope that her baby doesn’t make it through her labor. I jus hope that she ends up having an abortion, because she’s kind of young to have a baby at her age.”

He didn’t say any more to the neighbor, and since, he wouldn’t answer him, the neighbor, then, quieted down, and went back inside his apartment.

Finally, Maria made it to the door, and was desperate to get to the hospital, because, now, she seemed to be getting very close to having her baby over at her apartment. And since, she was afraid of not making it to the hospital, he, then, decided to stay at her apartment, and then, take care of her from there.

So, then, as he walked inside her apartment, he, then, said to her, “I’ve jus realized that the nearest hospital is too far away, for you to make it, there, in time to have your baby. So, then, listen to me, and get some supplies for me. I’m sure you will have all I need to complete taking care of you while you’re in labor, and because I have taken a course on delivering babies, not too long ago, I know what to do.”

Then, she said back to him, finding it hard to relax being she was in a lot of pain, “What kind of supplies do you need, Dave? At this time, it’s going to be hard for me, to get the supplies for you, because my labor pains are getting stronger, now.”

“I guess, I’d better run around your apartment, and in the meantime, you jus lay down your bed, and whatever you do, don’t try to push the baby out, because the baby may crown before I’m ready to deliver it.”

So, then, he ran around all over the place, gathering a little wash tub, besides some towels and something to place the placenta and liquid inside when it’s time to dispose of it. So, he got himself, a couple of garbage bags, and some shaving supplies like a shaver, and also, something to drape over here while he’s working at delivering her baby.

And in the meantime, he’s hoping that she doesn’t end up having twins, because he doesn’t know how to give anesthesia for having twins. He can, only, administer anesthesia to a woman, who is having a normal labor, which he hopes, her labor ends up being.

Now, that he has all the supplies, gathered together, that he’ll be needing, he, then, walked over to her in the bedroom, and before he did anything else, he shaved her and draped this plastic sheet, which he happened to find around in her apartment.

Then, he got busy and started coaching her, which seemed to take, at least, a couple of hours. And she didn’t seem to have too long of a labor, and she was lucky for that, because he could, only, administer anesthesia into her back, an epidural for her.

When it came time for the baby to come out, he then, said to her in a loving voice, “Okay, my love, it’s, finally, time to deliver your baby. Jus push as hard as you can and use all your energy for this, because you have to in order for your baby to come out. I jus hope that I don’t have any problems in delivering your baby, because although, I have forceps with me, I jus don’t want to have to take you to the hospital for a C-section.”

It didn’t take long for her to take a few big breaths, and after she did, the baby, finally, was crowning. And she was, actually, crying at this time, because she could hear the baby, crying its head off. So, as he grabbed hold of the baby, he didn’t have any trouble at all, in delivering her baby.

































CHAPTER III


However, as soon as he clipped off the placenta, and then, disposed it and the liquid from her womb into a garbage bag, he tied it tight. And then, immediately, he tied up the bag, and then, walked outside over to a dumping place, threw the bag into the dumpster.

And then, he ran back into her apartment, and upon running back into her bedroom, then, he cleaned her up through using some baby wipes, he had brought with her. And then, he helped her, get dressed, and then, told her to take a shower.

As soon as she had her shower and was dressed, the baby had been cleaned in the portable tub, she had at her apartment. And after she was dressed, and the baby was all clean and dressed, he, then, gave the baby, some formula, and had her, eat some food, since, she didn’t have any lunch, and it was lunchtime. And since, he hasn’t had any lunch, then, he made lunch for himself, too. The two of them had some bologna sandwiches, while the baby was sleeping on her bed in her bedroom.

After Dave and Maria were threw eating, then, he took her and the baby to his car, and from there, although, it would take about twenty minutes to get there, he then, drove her and the baby to the hospital.


When Maria, him and the baby, whom she named Madison Claire, a baby girl, arrived over at the hospital, he, then, parked in a handicapped space, because he, almost, had to carry Maria to the doors of the hospital.

As Maria and Dave and the baby, which Maria was holding, tenderly, in a blue blanket, arrived inside the hospital, a nurse, upon seeing that Maria was holding a newborn, said to her and Dave, “What can I do for you two? Is this a newborn, which you are holding, my dear?”

“Yes, it is, I jus had her, today, and her name is Madison Claire, and the reason, we are here is to get both me and the baby checked out. Since, I think I’ll be in some need of rest, now, and the baby has to be seen, I think that it would be best for me and the baby if we are taken to the maternity ward. Can you please take us to the maternity ward, now? Where is the ward at, by the way?”

“Don’t worry about anything, my dear. By the way, what are you two names?”

Maria said to the nurse, “I’m Maria and he’s Dave, and he jus happens to be a good boyfriend of mine. We have been going together for a couple of years, and are planning in getting married, soon, so that the baby will have a family to grow up in.”

So, then, an orderly came up to Maria with a wheelchair, and Dave followed the orderly, as he wheeled her into an elevator.

When they all arrived on the next floor, and the orderly wheeled her over to the maternity ward, then, a nurse, nurse Mary Ann Carter, took over for the orderly, jus because she happened to be walking down the hall at this time.

Upon arriving at the maternity ward, and a couple of doctors, there, helping Maria onto one of the beds, then, a doctor checked her out to make sure, that she was doing alright after jus having her baby. And she seemed to be doing jus fine, so, then, a nurse came back to see Maria, and she took over from here.

The nurse walked over to Maria, and then, asked her, “My dear, the doctor jus gave me, your chart, and by what it says on your chart, you are doing jus dandy. So, I’ve brought you a couple of towels to use, and now, I’m going to show you jus how to breastfeed your baby.”

Jus after showing her how it’s to be done, then, she was breastfeeding her baby jus like a pro. Breastfeeding seemed to come so natural to her, although, she was doing this for her baby for the first time.

In the meantime, while she was breastfeeding, the nurse stayed at her side, and as soon as the baby was done, then, she showed her, jus how to burp the baby.

Then, the nurse said to her, “Okay, my dear, I can’t believe how well, you have caught on to breastfeeding. Do you want to wait, here, in the maternity ward, while I have a doctor, check out your baby, to make sure, that nothing is wrong with your baby? It has to be checked out, because your baby has been born premature, and sometimes, a premature baby can have something wrong with it, that needs immediate attention.”

“Yes, I’ll jus wait here in the maternity ward with my boyfriend, and it won’t take long, will it, nurse?”

“No, it shouldn’t take long at all, my dear. In fact, you, what’s your name, mister?”

“My name’s Dave, and don’t’ get me wrong. Although, I’m jus a boyfriend of hers, for now, the two of us are going to get married, very soon, so, that our baby will have a family to grow up with, which I’m sure, will be the perfect environment, in which the baby will feel secure inside.”

“Oh, really, Dave, when are you getting married, by the way?”

“As soon as we know that the baby’s doing well, we are going to get married, probably, this very weekend.”

“Okay, now, I must take the baby with me over to the nursery, and you two jus make yourselves, comfortable, here. Before you know it, I’ll be back, here, in the maternity ward with your baby. If there happens to be anything wrong with the baby, I’ll let you know, right away. However, I, almost, forgot to tell you two, that being the baby’s premature; I’ll have to have the doctor, keep your baby in the nursery for about a week. I’ll tell you what, you can stay as along as you want, however, it’ll be best if you two come back in about a week to pick up your baby.”

So, then, the nurse cuddled the baby into her arms, and she seemed to be in a hurry to get the baby over to the nursery. And as soon as she arrived, there, one of the doctors, Dr. Ben Casey, started checking the baby over. However, after checking out the baby, thoroughly, he found out, that the baby jus needed to stay at the hospital for some observation, being that it jus was having a little trouble, breathing. However, the doctor was sure, that the baby was going to be normal in a week’s time.

So, then, the doctor said to the nurse, whom was standing beside him, “Nurse Carter, go back to the maternity ward, and tell the couple, who’s baby, this is, that the baby is jus having a normal problem, which most premature babies seem to have upon being born. And that they can pick up the baby in a week’s time.”

So, the nurse, then, walked back to the maternity ward, where the baby’s father and mother, Dave and Maria, were, patiently, waiting to hear about their baby.

As soon as she arrived over to where Maria and Dave were, she wasn’t surprised to find Maria, sleeping in her bed. So, then, the nurse said to Dave, “Your baby is going to be fine, it’s jus that the baby has to stay a week in the hospital, until it’s breathing normally. Don’t worry about her, because a lot of premature babies end up with breathing problems, and recover within a week’s time.”

He was choked up at this time, so, he didn’t answer her. So, then, she said to him, “Do you want Maria to be here about an hour or so, and stay with her. Or do you want her taken home by the hospital van, and leave now?”

“I’ll let her have her rest, so, then, arrange for a hospital van to take her home, as soon as she’s ready to be taken home.”

“Okay, I’ll have transportation arranged for her, so, you jus go along, and when she wakes up, she knows how to get my attention. I hope that your wedding plans go through, and that she doesn’t end up changing her mind about marriage.”

So, then, a week later, the two came back to pick up the baby, and the baby was doing jus fine, like the nurse had told Dave, originally.

Now, that Maria knows someone, who can baby-sit for their baby, then, a neighbor of hers, whom was living in an apartment on the same floor by herself, agreed to watch their baby until after they had their wedding.

So, Dave, then, told Maria with starry eyes, “How does this sound? I know that you never have been married before, so, would you like my friend, Mike Pauley, who I haven’t seen in awhile, but is a full-fledged minister, to marry us?”

“Yes, Dave, that sounds like a good idea to me. In fact, I would like to get married at a church. However, I don’t want a large wedding, so, how about if we have him, marry us, right here, at the apartment building, where I have been living?”

“Okay, I’ll take you up on your idea, and we’ll have a small wedding. In fact, neither of us, really, have any friends, who live close enough to us. So, then, I’ll jus have family join us at our wedding. That’s another thing, too, neither of us have any family, either, that lives close enough to us.”

“Why don’t you give your minister friend, a call, right now, because if this is alright with you, I want to get married, tonight?”

“Boy, you, really, can surprise me, my dear. All of the services are over with for the day, so, I’ll get my friend on the phone, right now. And from there, I’ll, really, be sure to make our wedding plans to a tee. Before I call him, would you want to have a wedding in white bathing suits? In fact, I know you are going to say yes, so, I have, already, bought some bathing suits for us. And another thing, we are going to have some champagne right after our wedding, and I, already, have arranged to have, if you want to call this, a honeymoon, a drink of champagne in this plastic huge container.”

“Are you, really, serious about having a honeymoon in this plastic container? If it’s going to be underwater, how do you expect us two to be able to breathe underwater?”

“That is all planned out, already, I have bought two snorkels for the two of us, and that’s going to get us through the time, we are going to spend inside this container. And of course, there are holes in this container, too, so, that when we are underwater, air will be able to flow, freely, through the whole thing. And we will be, of course, close to the top of the water, not way underneath the lake in back of my apartment.”

She was so choked up at this time; she didn’t know what else to say to him. However, as soon as he grabbed the phone, nearby him, his cell phone, she started to have this look of wonder in her eyes.

So, then, he said to her, trying to reassure her, “Now, my dear, don’t be so surprised at what I have planned for us, because I’ve, actually, seen this type of wedding on television. And when I happened to watch it, going on, this couple, actually, also, wore white bathing suits. And don’t worry about drowning, because if it can work out for this one couple on television, it’s going to work out for the two of us.”

“For one thing, I don’t know if the white bathing suit, which you have bought for me, is even going to fit me, because it’s, only, been about three months, since, the baby has been born. And during the wedding ceremony, who do you plan to have watched our baby?”

“I’ll have your neighbor, baby-sit for the baby, again, like she had done that last time, when we had to take you and the baby over to the hospital. And don’t worry about anything, because I’ll let you know, that while you were in my bedroom, I, already, called her, and she has, already, agreed to watch the little one for us.”

So, then, he gave his minister friend, a call, and when he answered the phone, he was very surprised to hear from Dave, since, the two haven’t seen each other, since, high school, which has been quite a few years ago. This was, although, the two have kept in touch through telephone calls, occasionally.

Upon the minister answering the phone, Dave said to him in a surprised voice, “Guess what, my boy, only, a few months ago, me and my girlfriend, Maria, had a baby, and we named the baby, Madison Claire. And you don’t have to ask how the baby is doing, because she’s doing jus fine. Another thing is that she has been a good baby since birth, and isn’t the kind of baby, who likes to cry a lot.”

“Well, what else are you calling about, because I can tell by your voice, that you and she seem to have something up your sleeves?”

“The real reason, I’m calling you, this afternoon, is that the two of us, really, want to get married, sometime, tonight before dusk. So, do you think you can squeeze a small wedding in for us two, and there aren’t going to be any family or friends at the wedding, because all of them seem to live too far away, unfortunately.”

“Boy, you sure are surprising me, my boy. Surely, I can, definitely, work in a wedding ceremony for you two, tonight. And where would you two like to be married, in a church or do you two have something else in mind for tonight?”

“The two of us have decided on getting married, right here, near the lake in back of my apartment in Los Angeles. And, already, planned is having some champagne inside a huge plastic container, setting on the beach for the wedding, tonight. Also, I have bought both her and me, some white bathing suits for the wedding.”

“Boy, this, really, sounds like you two have everything planned out to a tee. Of course, I can marry you two rights near the lake, tonight. About what time, do you think, you two can be ready for your wedding ceremony? And have any of you, even practiced for the wedding ceremony, yet?”

“Well, the two of us can be ready in about an hour. And we even have, already, rehearsed for the wedding ceremony, too. But if you like, we can rehearse it, again, right before it’s time for our wedding ceremony.”

“I think that would be a good idea, Dave. In fact, I’ll come right over as soon as I’m ready, myself. And I’ll be there over at your apartment in about a half hour earlier than the wedding ceremony.”

“Okay, I’ll see you, then, my buddy. And don’t forget to bring your video camera, to catch all the glamorous stuff, which is going to happen right after the wedding ceremony, itself.”

So, then, the minister arrived about seven o’clock, that evening. And Dave jus happened to be the one to answer the door. And jus before opening the door, he made sure that it, really, was the minister at the door through looking through the peek hole.”

“Hey, buddy,” said the minister to Dave, “It’s good to see you, again, and also, your bride-to-be. She looks, really, gorgeous in her white bathing suit. You, surely, have a beautiful-looking bride, tonight. Okay, let’s go outside near the lake, and start the rehearsal before the wedding ceremony is due to go on.”

Then, Dave said to him, “Okay, buddy, I and Maria are as ready as we’ll ever be for tonight. And the baby, already, is with her neighbor for the rest of the night. Let’s go back towards the lake. Boy, are you ever going to be surprised when you see what I have out there on the beach. I jus hope that no one has been around to steal that container from Maria and me.

So, then, they all headed out the back apartment doors. And as soon as they all were near the lake, the minister was surprised jus how Dave has the white flowers, setting all over the trellis near the beach.

Jus as soon as Dave and Maria had the whole ceremony rehearsed and down pat, then, then, Minister Mike said to the two, “Okay, now, get in your positions right underneath the trellis. And let’s get going with the ceremony.”

So, then, now, that the two were underneath the trellis, and waiting to get married, the minister, then, decided to make the wedding ceremony as brief as possible. This had to be done this way, so, that the two would have enough time to enjoy champagne inside this huge, plastic container before dusk started coming around.

“Okay, Dave, do you take Maria, to be your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or poor, until death do you two apart?”

“Yes, I do,” said Dave, as he placed a ring on Maria’s finger.

And then, the minister said to her, “Maria, do you take Dave, to be your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, for richer and for poor, ‘til death do you two apart?”

“Yes, I do.”

So, then, as soon as she placed the other ring on his finger, the minister said to the two with starry eyes, “You two jus have been pronounced man and wife. Now, the bridegroom may kiss the bride.”

As the two, really, gave each other, a big kiss, although, the two were a little hesitant about being inside that plastic container, the two got inside it, anyways. And then, the minister pushed the two into the water, but not until it was, completely, underwater. Then, he gave it, another little shove, and now, the two were, barely, underwater.

So, then, the two took their glasses of champagne, and made a toast to each other to their marriage. And Dave said to her, “My dear, I’m glad that you decided to marry me. And now, our baby, I’m sure, is going to be glad to have us as his parents.”

In about an hour, dusk was starting to come around. So, then, the minister walked into the lake, and helped Dave, move the container back onto the shore, jus after he and Maria got out of it.

Then, jus before he left, the minister said to the two, “It was nice marrying you two, and seeing you, again, my fellow, Dave. Now, be sure to keep in touch, and let me, know how your marriage is coming along, and how the baby’s doing?”

Although, Dave and Maria didn’t, really, have a honeymoon, the two spent the rest of the night on the sand.
