OBAMA TO HOST CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS FOR DINNER
WASHINGTON (AP)--President Obama's charm tour is continuing, this time aimed at the heads of congressional committee set to visit the White House for dinner.
Officials say the president, first lady Michele Obama and Senate and House committee chairment will dine Wednesday night in the East Room. It's part of the Obama White House's new routine of inviting guests for casual chats on Wednesday nights.
The Obamas have hosted cocktail parties for political leaders, a concert for singer Stevie Wonder, and a Super Bowl party for members of Congress. The first new family wants to use the White House as an asset to persuade lawmakers to support the administration's agenda.
Vice President Joe Biden also plans to attend Wednesday's dinner.
